All Things Must Pass
By George Harrison

Well, another great year of college is over... with new records set in both the 'enjoyment' and 'academic difficulty' categories.  Not to mention the 'amount of time spent in library' category.  Congratulations to distinguished diploma holders Susan, Andy, and Garrett!

Highlights of the year?  That's tough, but here are a few, in roughly chronological order...

- Getting unexpectedly intervised, then dragged to the street dance by females who will remain nameless (which is more than you deserve, Leah   )

- A weekend trip to Niagara Falls... awesome company, breathtaking grandeur, and the opportunity to drink with Dave M!

 - My first ever college all-nighter, a special night of male bonding and C++ coding spent at Dave L's house with Dave and Stuart McC

- My first ever attempt at ice skating.  Valuable lessons learned in humility.

- Experiencing a moderate thrill of victory in a EE robot competition (moderate because, while the Carr-McC-McC team tied for first among students, we all got beat by the prof)

- And of course, a bunch of wonderful Sunday afternoons and Saturdays at the A's, spent with the best of GCC students, faculty and faculty family members.  Dr and Mrs. A, Susan and David, you are truly amazing!

And now it's summer.  Expected highlights:

- The 2 hour season finale of 24 tonight.  (I had to watch 5 straight hours of old episodes over the weekend in preparation!)

- Stuart McC's wedding this coming Saturday.  His greatest life event to date!  (what's more, my first ever experience with a tux!...)

- Internship in Richmond, VA with Dominion Power.  Sure to be full of challenges and learning experiences.  I start work a week from tomorrow... your prayers are appreciated!

- Lots of quality time spent with various brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandfathers!

And that does it.  There's a possibility I'll update this over the summer, but I hope to carry on most of my correspondence through email.  So watch your inbox.

See yall around!

So many great quotes... just a sample of my treasure trove...

Anonymous Artistic Individual #1:
"Honey, honey, what the heck...
I heard you just failed Home Ec!"

Anonymous Artistic Individual #2:
"Yeah, honey, what the heck...
Now I'LL have to take Home Ec!"

Corey Pickering, 2/6/06:

“We have serious trigonometric issues...  We’re always going off on tangents.”

Dr. Bright, 10/28/05:  “If they’d get rid of the faculty, your tuition would drop dramatically.”

Corey Pickering, 3/5/06:

“This may look like a finger, but it’s not… it’s a multi-dimensional pointing apparatus!”

Dr. Gordon, 11/8/05: “You come to college to get a sip from the fountain of knowledge, and it’s like an open fire hydrant.”

Grandma was the best grandma anybody ever had.  Her love for God inspired her to love lots of others, not the least her husband, 7 children and 17 grandchildren.  She was unfailingly kind and selfless, strong, dependable, no-nonsense.  Although we're sad to lose her, we know that after many painful months she is finally free from suffering in the presence of God.  We'll always have priceless memories of her.  And, Lord-willing, we'll each see her again.

Thou wast her Rock, her Fortress and her Might;

Thou, Lord, her Captain in the well-fought fight;

Thou in the darkness drear her one true Light!

Alleluia!  Alleluia!

Wow.  I observe with typical perceptiveness that I haven't updated this thing for 3 months.  Fortunately nothing of importance has happened in the meantime.

Dude.  Am I the only one who can't believe another whole semester is gone?  Five-eights of the way through my college career!  It's been a semester full of friends, suite craziness, basement-of-library craziness, other assorted varieties of craziness, lack of sleep, and general blessing from God!  Oh dear, I fear I'm getting quite excessively sentimental here.  Come on, TDawg, maintain your masculinity...

Yeah.  So I'm tremendously happy to be home.  Sleeping 11 hours a night... playing the piano... putting together cabinets for Mom... playing the piano... reading good devotional books with Dad... playing the piano... overeating... playing the piano...

Tomorrow Nate-Dawg comes in.  And that's gonna be even spectacularer.  Theological discussions, political arguments, football conversations... oh yeah.  And then getting to see the relations... the crazy cousins... Uno tournaments... hysterical laughter...

So it promises to be a joyous time.  All these blessings of human love... but far above them, the gift of God's Son, the source of all love, the Savior of sinners, Word of the Father in flesh appearing!

Merry Christmas!

In conclusion, I offer a concise AIM summary of the semester.
